Application Guidelines

Community Building Projects which incorporate `green` and sustainable construction design and renewable energy techniques will be given special consideration.

Applications for community projects that fall within nationally declared areas of social and economic deprivation in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes will be given priority consideration.

The Advisory Panel agreed that it would not support project applications from a single sports facility that operates a Membership policy. To support a single sports facility project application there must be clear evidence of wider community use. The Entrust interpretation of wider community use is that the facility is being used by at least four other organisations or community groups not associated with the single sports facility

The Advisory Panel Members agreed that they will not accept project applications for restoration of Christian Church buildings where the only purpose of the building is religious worship. This type of project request will be directed to the Buckinghamshire Historic Churches Trust (BHCT) if it falls within the County of Buckinghamshire to which the Panel award a Block Grant annually (10% of the nett county budget).

In Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, non-Christian places of religous worship may apply directly to the panel for category E restoration project grants.

Sustainability

Priority will be given to projects that have considered the environmental impact of their project, the use of sustainable materials and processes and energy efficiency.

Consultation

Applicants should carry out appropriate community consultation to support their proposed project. Consultation should include existing users/user groups, potential users/user groups, residents who live close to the proposed project and members of the surrounding communities.

Financial Sustainability

Any project which relies on the generation of income in order to be sustainable must submit a business plan with their application. This plan should include a forecast income and expenditure account to include running costs and anticipated income. Lettings policies and full accounts should also be provided.

Evidence of Self-help

No maximum percentage of funding is set, however some degree of self-help is expected. 100% funding will not be awarded.
