Important Information for Church Projects
Under Object E of the Landfill Communities Fund WREN is able to fund the maintenance and repair of Churches. Due to the specialist nature of this work WREN has entered into a number of agreements with County Churches Trusts to help us administer funding to Church projects. If your project is for the maintenance, repair or restoration of a Church, its fabric or contents, including the provision of facilities for the disabled, please contact the appropriate Churches Trust for your area.
WREN currently has agreements with the following:
- Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust
- Buckinghamshire Historic Churches Trust
- Royal County of Berkshire Churches Trust
- Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust
- Historic Cheshire Churches Preservation Trust (including Halton & Warrington)
- Derbyshire Churches and Chapels Preservation Trust
- Friends of Kent Churches
- Lincolnshire Old Churches Trust
- Norfolk Churches Trust
- Nottinghamshire Historic Churches Trust
- Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust
- Suffolk Historic Churches Trust
- Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust (including Humber)
Funding for Churches under Category E will only be available through the Churches Trusts in these areas.
WREN does not currently have Churches Trust Agreements in the following areas:
- Conwy
- Edinburgh & Midlothian
- Glasgow and Lanarkshire
- West Glamorgan
- Wrexham
If your project is located in one of these, please contact WREN House for advice on funding available.
Please note WREN is unable to fund any new build work under Object E of the LCF and is only able to fund restoration, repair and renewal. In addition WREN's own policy precludes it from funding walls or boundary work surrounding churches and church yards.
WREN has now awarded an annual block grant to the National Churches Trust to enable them to allocate funds and manage church restoration projects in the following areas where we do not operate with the County churches trusts.
Cumbria
Warwickshire and West Midlands
Humber and North Lincs
Northamptonshire
Church Applicants from within these areas should go directly to the Grants Officer, National Churches Trust on 020 7600 6090 for further guidance on the application process.
