Cambourne Church Gets Royal 'Stamp' Of Approval!

The official opening of Cambourne's new Church community centre received a Royal foot of approval last month, when the Duke of Gloucester helped to plant a tree during the ceremony.

At long last Cambourne has a church building large enough to accommodate church services - and also plenty of space for other groups to use as a meeting venue and cafe.

Over the past 18months, the community at Cambourne have watched the impressive structure grow before their eyes, and the official celebration and opening event in July was attended by the Duke of Gloucester.  He joined in with a tree planting, and gave the traditional 'heel' to it, to ensure the soil was well-packed round.

Attended by invited guests including the various church denominations under the Shared Churches umbrella, grant funders and many user groups, there was a music-backed video showing photos from the past 18months, condensed to just 3 minutes.
