Funding approved for improvements to Village Hall in Ranby.
The money, awarded by WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, will go towards the replacement of the old, leaking roof, refit the kitchen, replace the windows with double glazed units, insulate the walls, update the wiring and lighting system, add insulation to the loft and create a new entrance with disabled access to the Village Hall in Ranby.
John Hilton, Chairman of the Village Hall trustees, believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.
He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Ranby. It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our Village Hall taking shape over the next few months.
Ranby Village Hall provides a large spacious room for the people of Ranby and surrounding area to use for parties, meetings and other events, at a very reasonable cost. It is in a lovely village location at the side of the Chesterfield canal. Ample parking is available. The Village Hall is a wonderful asset to Ranby and the surrounding communities.
Cheryl Raynor, WREN’s grant manager for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, says: “We are delighted to be supporting the Village Hall Refurbishment project and pleased that our funding will provide such a fantastic facility for the local community in Ranby. WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that make a difference to local communities and we’re really looking forward to seeing this one take shape soon.”.
