Olympic Gymast Beth Tweddle opens Bunbury Scout and Youth Centre

Construction of a purpose built Scout and Youth Centre
Olympic Gymast Beth Tweddle opens Bunbury Scout and Youth Centre

For years the young people of Bunbury made do with a small house in the centre of the village for scouting, guiding and youth activities. The building had no outside areas and the first floor was out of bounds for safety reasons.

Years of dedicated fundraising and the sale of the old building eventually gave the opprotunity for a new Scout and Youth Centre to be constructed on land adjacent to the playing fields. The timber clad building was completed in Summer 2011 thanks for a £50,000 grant from WREN.

The local community turned out in force to see former Bunbury Rainbow Beth Tweddle perform the official opening. The building offers a range of facilities including a large hall, meeting room, kitchen and toilets and  is now being well used by Scouts and Guide groups and is also proving popular with other local groups and residents.
