Leighton Buzzard Bringing Stockgrove To Life

Leighton Buzzard Bringing Stockgrove To Life

Stockgrove Country Park is situated about 2 miles from Leighton Buzzard, and Milton Keynes, Luton and Dunstable are not more than 12 miles away. There is a fairly large car park for visitors use (£1 voluntary donation) and a small café/visitors centre. This backs on to the children's play area which currently has a large, wooden carved fish to play on, and visitor toilets. The paths and walks lead on from the café, and they surround a large lake which is full of wildlife.

There are various trails or walks around the lake, most of which are flat and easily accessible. The lake still hosts the old boat house and a field adjacent to the path has a beautiful sundial, in fact there are pleasant surprises all around the Park.

Funding was sought from WREN towards a new welcome board, improvements to the existing trails and nature area, interactive displays and play sculptures.

A grant of £32,050 was awarded in October 2007, and work is now underway.
