Horningsea - Queens Jubilee Garden

The project was to develop a special garden and adult recreation area to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The site was previously overgrown and was home to a village hall made from two redundant WWI nissan huts, which served earlier as military hospitals. The village raised sufficient funds to demolish these, and following consultation, drew up plans for a 'Jubilee Garden'.

The renovated building which WREN provided a grant towards comprises toilets and storage area for the maintenance equipment for the gardens. Within these are a paved maze area, boule pitch, decorative seating and landscaping. Since WREN gave funding to the project, they have been successful in receiving further grants to complete a childrens play area.
