Lolworth Robinson Hall
Lolworth Robinson Hall
Robinson Hall was donated to the village in 1971, and was formerly the village school. It occupies a prominent position adjacent to the village green and is the last remaining community facility for the population of approximately 105 people.
The hall is well-used by the small community, and has been desperately wanting upgrading for some time. A new entrance, incorporating new toilets has been built, which has really made a huge difference to the users of the hall. The build is sympathetic to the existing exterior, and they have also incorporated one of the original windows to retain the look. Rewiring of the electrics has also been undertaken, along with redecoration, and the ceiling has been opened up to see the original features.
Along with the new toilets, a storage space has been created for chairs, thereby freeing some space up within the small room.
WREN funding of £20,000 was secured towards the £33,000 project. It was officially opened up to the community in its full glory earlier this summer.
