DCC Cotmanhay Linear Park
This project was initiated by local residents in the area, who approached Derbyshire County Council for help to provide a multi-user trail, which would run through the community of Cotmanhay and link in to the wider trails network. At the eastern end of Cotmanhay, the trail would link with the new housing and at the western end it would link in with Heanor Road and the popular Nutbrook Trail. The project involved the construction of 500 metres of trail, the provision of drainage, fencing, access controls, and lighting. The project also involved landscaping to encourage wildlife and the formation of wildlife habitats.
The total project cost was over £60K and WREN awarded £13,500
