The David Livingston Centre in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire commemorates the life and work of Doctor David Livingston, the world famous explorer and missionary. Wren awarded £5,000 through it’s Gift Aid programme, towards the restoration of the ticket booth.
A famous Livingston episode concerns him being attacked by a lion, which left him extremely ill for weeks, however, he fully recovered and this is commemorated by a statue in the park entrance to the Centre.
