Halebank Ballcourt and Play Area

Halebank Ballcourt and Play Area

Over several years, the local community at Halebank identified the need for an all-weather multi-use games area, to complement the grass pitch and children’s play area at Halebank Recreation Ground. Consultation was carried out with the wider community, resulting in a design being drawn up and approved.

A grant of £40,000 from WREN enabled the project to go ahead in the Summer of 2006 at a total cost of over £66,000. The games area was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Halton in September 2006 and is being very well used.

Following the success of the ballcourt project, additional community involvement and consultation resulted in another application for funding being made to WREN, this time for improvements to the play area. An exceptional grant of £72,674 has been awarded to completely redevelop the play facilities at a total cost in excess of £82,000. Works are expected to commence on the play area in early 2007.
