Kings Lynn Methodist Church hall

Kings Lynn Methodist Church hall

Their Church Hall, which was built in 1979, is vital to their local community outreach and is the base for a number of different groups and organisations.

The Church Hall, which includes the kitchen and three cloakroom/toilet areas, used to be heated by individual gas heaters/radiators which had to be turned on individually at the time of use – or nothing in the case of the cloakrooms. The applicants replaced this system with a modern, efficient and environmentally friendly, gas fired, central heating system. Radiators were user friendly, in being low surface temperature, so the hall could still be used safely by the elderly and young children.

The Methodist church at Kings Lynn has been undergoing a general refurbishment over the past few years, and WREN has now assisted on three occasions since 2003. Phase 1 was for new toilets and improved entrance area, Phase 2 entailed the upgrading and restructuring of their kitchen. The kitchen was completed on time and within budget, and has provided them with the opportunity to improve their catering within the community - luncheon clubs etc.

WREN awarded grants totalling £35,000, towards their total project costs of £178,000.
