Bingley Myrtle Park Play Area
Bingley Myrtle Park Play Area
On 24th January the Mayor of Bingley opened the new children’s play area in Myrtle Park Bingley that received a £25,000 grant from WREN. The project resulted from Bradford Council receiving a petition asking for improved facilities in June 2005. Since then Bradford Council Parks and Landscapes team have worked with pupils from the local school, Myrtle Primary, to develop the plans for the new play area.
The new play area has been specifically designed to incorporate elements addressing the issue of litter collecting. It is the first organically shaped play area in the Bradford district which sympathetically enhances the contours and topography of the area without detrimental impact on the character of the landscape within the park. The children from Myrtle Primary were there to help open the play area and all agreed it was a vast improvement on the old facilities.
