Streethouse - The Crescent Toddler Play Area
The Streethouse Village and Community Group worked in conjunction with Groundwork Wakefield to put in place a new children’s play area in the Crescent Park, Streethouse. The project was developed after the community group received numerous requests from local children and parents for a play area suitable for young children. Consultation undertaken by Groundwork Wakefield in 2004 showed that provision for young people was one of the top priorities for people in the village.
A £25,000 WREN grant was awarded to the Streethouse Village Community Group in December 2005. The group has also secured funding from Capricorn Housing to enable the project to go ahead. The play area was opened by Ian Clayton on Saturday 4th August 2007 and is now well used by local children.
