Smethwick - St Marks Community Kitchen Enlargement
St Marks Church Hall in Smethwick is a very active facility that serves it’s local community by providing a base for parent & toddler groups, adult learning, disability groups and general community social activities. It runs a daily luncheon club and a “meal on wheels” in the Londonderry neighbourhood of Smethwick.
The need for improved kitchen facilities was very apparent if the Church was to cope with the demand for its meal services. WREN was happy to help St Marks with a grant of £7,000 towards the new kitchen equipment.
The new kitchen facility was official opened by the Bishop of Birmingham on the 11th July 07 when all present enjoyed an excellent lunch.
