Ystradgynlais - Diamond Park Phase 2

Diamond Park was a former area of industrial activity with the name Diamond deriving from the hard nature of the coal that was previously mined in the land area of the park. Following reclamation the land eventually transferred in ownership to the Ystradgynlais Town Council in 1987 piecemeal development - limited by lack of funding - took place until 2004 whereupon problems were incurred by the indiscriminate burning of the gorse which has invaded the site. It was decided by the Town Council in conjunction with other interested parties to try and improve matters.

Ystalyfera - Godrergraig Workingmens Club Roof

The building has been known as the Workingmen's Club for many years, but due to the lack of a village hall within the community, and with no other building/premises available, the club premises have been used as a multi purpose facility.

Tairgwaith Environmental Improvements

Groundwork Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot were approached as an environmental organisation by the Circle of Youth, a group of young people who meet weekly to develop a village website and newsletter, to help them with a project to improve what is currently some waste ground near to their meeting venue.
