Bryncoch Saron Chapel Roof

Bryncoch Saron Chapel Roof

Saron Chapel is a member of the Welsh Independents (Anibynwyr) and has been serving the community of Bryncoch for 100 years.

As a chapel, there are two services each Sunday. The chapel is one of the few chapels in this district who provide this service bilingually, therefore meeting the needs of both the Welsh and English speaking members of the local community.

In addition to religious worship the chapel is used by community groups for a myriad of activities including; Weight watchers, Swansea University Education courses, Choir, Gentlemen’s Club, Neath Rural Guides. The chapel comprises of a main chapel room, vestry (with heating), kitchen and toilet facilities. Groups are encouraged and welcome the use the vestry.

The roof of the Chapel was coming to the end of its life. The nails holding the slates were corroded and the roof was in need of constant attention and repair which proved to be uneconomical and costly.

With the aid of a WREN grant of £7000 the roof has been replaced and the Chapel will be able to serve the community for many more years to come.
