Brill Windmill Restoration

Work has recently been completed on a major refurbishment to this local tourist attraction and historical, picturesque landmark. WREN's grant of £71,000 was spent on renovating the Grade II* listed mill, improving access and installing display boards to provide information about the building’s history.

It also funded a virtual tour experience, which means less able bodied visitors can also learn about the building. WREN's grant offer helped the owners, Buckinghamshire County Council, to secure substantial additional funding which eventually enabled over £300,000 worth of work to be done at the site.

As a result of this work, the mill has been removed from the national Buildings at Risk Register. The end result is a fully restored windmill which is already proving very popular with local people and visitors to the area.
