Earith Skate Park

The small village of Earith is quite isolated, in that there is little public transport, and few opportunities for recreational activities.  In the last few years, the Parish Council have been actively changing this situation, by securing funding to install at fenced Multi Use Games area, and also add to the existing playground.

Following an approach to the Parish Council by two local youths, consultation was gathered as to the need for such a facility.  With the weight of the local support, quotes were sought and other skate parks visited to see how they compared.  Concrete was chosen as it was a quieter and more durable surface.

Funding of £40,000 was secured from Mick George, and a further £25,000 offered by WREN, both grants under the Landfill Communities Fund.

Work started on site in early February 2015, and within 6 weeks, it was completed and open for use.

Mandy Pink, Parish Clerk said "The park has given the younger members of our village a wonderful new facility - it has been eagerly awaited and is going to be very much used!"

Complementing the new skate park which was installed by HAGS is a new surfaced pathway and fencing to the area.
