Edinburgh - Burdiehouse Burn Dip Skate Park

As part of the development of Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park, WREN recently contributed £25,000 towards the cost of building the first Skate Facility in South Edinburgh. The project was one of a number of local initiatives developed by South Edinburgh Partnership to ensure all sections of the community have access to activities and services previously unavailable

After public consultation the need for a youth facility to provide a positive impact to community life was identified and the young people felt skate facilities would fit the bill. Youth service providers and South Edinburgh Partnership began to search for a suitable site. Not only did they identify Burdiehouse Burn Dip as a suitable site, but it received the cross-generational support of local residents. With easy access for those living outwith the immediate area, the finished facility is proving very popular with local children and young adults.
