Brymbo - Mountain View Play Area

Mountain View Play Area located in Brymbo, Wrexham is undoubtedly well used and is the main play area on the housing estate, but it had in recent years, suffered from a period of neglect and lack of investment. The estate is located up a steep hill with fantastic views – hence its name Mountain View.

It was recognised that something had to be done about the condition and lack of equipment and the only way to acheive this project was through working in partnership. The project was successfully delivered with the assistance of a WREN grant of £20,750, £4000 from from the community council and consultation with the children local school.

The children were asked for their design ideas and helped in choosing the equipment.

They are now extremeley proud of their new play area and were very excited to be able to attend the opening event. The consultation and involvement will ensure that the children will have a scense of ownership over the play area and it will be looked after in years to come.
