Newark Air Museum

The Newark Air Museum is small but packed with interesting artefacts, history and identity. The museum is also home to several old aircrafts and moving them around for storage or maintenance is very difficult – especially across grassland. As a result, Wren has provided £4,528.15 towards the cost of providing a level access route to the Museum's south field site and the proposed new hanger. Rather than installing concrete to cover the area, the museum trustees decided to try and utilise recycled materials for the project. Recycled materials have already been used as a base for the new access (an ex-runway) and compacted to take the weight of the aircraft on site. The surface has been levelled and stabilised using grass reinforcement and an erosion control system made of recycled plastic.
