Old Conwy - Wynn Gardens
The project involved the redevelopment of a part of the Wynn Gardens into a sensory garden consisting of selected trees, plants, shrubs, herbs, the provision of a water feature, a pergola, installation of pathways, seating, development of raised beds, and the pruning and reshaping of existing trees.
The main features of the Jubilee Sensory Garden are:
- the installation of suitably wide pathways with varying textured surfaces
- a paved area
- bow topped metal fencing
- low walls to form raised planted areas
- bench seats
- limestone arch
- water feature with water and electrical supply
- cast iron pergola
- pruning and shaping of trees - partly to provide views for the cctv system
- planting of trees, shrubs, plants, bulbs and seeds
Included in the scheme are artworks and sculptures funded by the Arts Council for Wales through National Lottery sources.
The garden enhances the local park in an area which was previously lacking such facilities, and improves the social environment for all park visitors.
