Rawcliffe Bridge Play & Skate
Villagers at Rawcliffe and Rawcliffe Bridge were promised play equipment over 40 years ago, and now the plans have become a reality.
The aim of the project was to meet the mission statement of the Play and Skate Committee to provide the communities of Rawcliffe and Rawcliffe Bridge with recreational and play facilities through:
- The provision of facilities predominantly aimed at the 8 years plus age groups, funded by Play Pathfinder Funding, including play equipment, a skate/BMX area, natural play including grass mounds, a grass dyke, boulders and wooden structures.
- The provision of secure play facilities predominantly for the under 8 years age groups including more traditional play equipment and safety surfacing with funding of £40,000 from WREN.
The play area has provided a fun, innovative and stimulating recreational play facility for children of all ages, in a safe environment for the Rawcliffe area.
The completed project was officially opened on 18th June 2010 with children and parents from the local school enjoying the new facility.
