Rockland St Mary village hall
Rockland St Mary’s village hall, known as the Margaret Mack Room, has received a WREN Grant of £7,931 towards their new kitchen, which replaced their previously tired cupboards and worktops. The previous kitchen was already second-hand when they received it some years ago, and was becoming difficult to maintain.
Although Rockland St Mary is only a small village of less than 900 people, the hall is used daily by the primary school next door, and is also hired out to a number of groups and organisations, for many purposes – including the village panto!
The new kitchen means that they are better equipped to cope with fundraising events and parties, and can actually prepare and cook food on-site, rather than bringing in hot from home, as was the case before.
