Crewe - Tipkinder Park BMX Track

A grant of £40,000 from WREN kick-started fund raising on an ongoing project to provide a high quality BMX facilities for local people and a base for the Cheshire Ghostriders BMX Club. The completed BMX track at Tipkinder Park in Crewe cost £300,000 and is one of the best in the region, replacing an ageing facility which needed major remodelling and repair to bring it up to a race standard.

The new floodlit track has been built to international standards and it is hoped that National competitions will be held during the 2008-9 season. The Ghostriders-trained, gold medal winning Shanaze Reade, has already taken time out of her busy international sports schedule to come down and try out the track which features a state-of-the-art starting grid.
